Found this picture on MyHeritage. This is my grandfather Charles Dodds sister Lily May and her husband Kenneth Kroenert. Lily (18) married Ken (22) 1 Dec 1939. April 20 1940 saw Ken leaving his pregnant wife for the middle east with the 2/11th Australian Infantry Battalion where he fought alongside his fellow Australians. as time passed, he was reassigned to the 19th Brigade, but it remained part of the 6th Division. However, when his Battalion was in Crete in June 1941 Kenneth was listed as Missing, believed to be a prisoner of war, captured in Crete. This was confirmed in Oct 1941, and it was said that he was interred in Stalag. Kenneth died 15 Nov 1941, aged 24 never meeting his son.
