My 2 x great grandmother was Louisa Whittington ( Married to Edgar Bisdee), born in the Swan Colony Western Australia, 28 December 1837. Louisa the 3rd child of Daniel and Jane Whittington to be born in Australia after their arrival in 1829. Her eldest brother and Daniel and Jane's oldest child, James was born in England 1824 and today's post is about his children/grandchildren.

Hi Brett, hello cousin! This is exciting to discover an actual Whittington! I got so many questions I would love to ask you If your happy to answer them my email is [email protected]. I have been doing research for many years, I have an extensive tree on Ancestry and I do have 2 DNA matches via James Whittington's line and 3 on Honoria line, would I be right in assuming James being first born son, the farm was left to his line? making you of his line? I hope you email me so we can collaborate further, this blog is in no way near finished, just need time to keep updating :) If you have a Facebook account, you can find me at Davina Shearer and there is a fantastic page called Western Australian Pioneers and settlers with fabulous information! We being first settlers are also entitled to a certificate of First settlers too!

Hi Davina. I have two questions for you if you can help please. Firstly, what info do you have on Lillian Grace Whittington because it seems she is a distant relative of mine. Second, my daughter's boyfriend is a Whittington so was wondering if you have any info on a Greg or Simon Whittington - especially if they are from Lillian's family. If possible, can I get any info from Lillian down to Greg and/or Simon if you have it please. Would appreciate any help you can give. Also, my email is on here so if you would rather send anything that way, I'd be happy to hear it :-) Thanks ad Merry Christmas. Sandy

Hi Sandy I have looked through my tree and I have no Lillian in there, I did do a quick search, would this Lillian be from Tasmania? If so I have not made any connections to Tasmania with the Whittington's as yet, s unfortunately I have nothing to offer here. I Have done my DNA and have had quite a few hits with cousins from the Whittington line, maybe this could be a route you may be interested in looking at, it really broke down some walls for me

Hi again Davina. Lillian is Lillian Grace wife of William Daniel or Daniel William Whittington. She came to my tree via that family and thats all the info I have. I have only done a very quick check but so far have found she may have been born in tas but could aos have been born in England!! was hoping you may have more or that maybe you could clarify the birth location for me if nothing else since I don't know which track to follow. Yes, the Whittington's I know are in tasmania but a lot of my family began life in England so she could be either of the two. Since they didn't have even a birthdate or era for me to work with I am now stuck. Thanks for your reply. Sandy Leave a Reply. |
AuthorMy name is Davina and I have been researching my family history since 2011. I started with almost nothing but ended up with a wealth of information and I needed an outlet to show and display all the information I have found. Archives
