You need to learn how to effectively use google for searching genealogy. If you use inverted commas around a persons name, such as “John Swanson” it will search for those words together. Then if you are looking during a certain time period you put two dots between the years with no spaces, 1853..1890. Then if you use this symbol ~ before a word it will search for sites with just that topic, i.e. ~genealogy. If you are looking for a surname that is also a place you could use the minus sign to exclude a word or words such as -county or -“Swanson County”. There are lots of other things you can do these are just a few. I hope this helps
My name is Davina and I have been researching my family history since 2011. I started with almost nothing but ended up with a wealth of information and I needed an outlet to show and display all the information I have found.
